My approach

I work with people who are tired of their own patterns: the drinking that started as stress relief, the anxiety that has become background noise, the relationship dynamics that keep repeating. I use DBT because it works: it gives people concrete tools for tolerating distress, regulating emotion, and changing behavior without requiring them to overhaul their entire personality first. I am direct in sessions. I will tell you what I notice. I am not interested in circling the same material indefinitely, and most of my clients aren't either.

What to expect

Sessions are 50 minutes and move quickly. I tend to work in a skills-forward way early on, building a toolkit before we go deep, and then we shift into understanding the underlying stuff once you have more ground under your feet. I see addiction as a symptom, not a character flaw, and I don't use shame as a motivator. I offer a free 15-minute call before we start.
