Who I work with

Therapy should be a space for you to explore your unique identity. I'm an LGBTQIA2+ advocate and ally, use a feminist/multicultural lens, and believe it is imperative to recognize systems of oppression in clinical work. When working with couples, I practice from a poly/ENM/kink-aware lens. When working with religious trauma and spirituality, I work with orthodox, nuanced, and non-believing people of many faiths and spiritual beliefs. I believe in the power of consistent, dependable, unfiltered relationships and prioritize rapport when working with clients.

My philosophy

We feel well when our relationships are meaningful and secure. My work focuses on helping you connect with others, manage conflict, maintain emotionally intimate relationships, and put language to parts of your experience you fear nobody can understand. The therapy space is a practice arena where you learn to cultivate belonging and feel a bit less alone.

Many of our problems stem from scarcity, and our scarcity is not always obvious to us. We feel good when we have enough time, space, energy, money, mobility, information, and community. The first step is identifying what kind of scarcity you're experiencing.

Navigating scarcity makes us more creative (finding ways to make the most of the resources available) and compassionate (deep familiarity with one's own scarcity makes the scarcity of others more visible.) Community is an especially important resource. Communities pool resources and give access to more time, space, energy, money, mobility, and information than we could ever secure on our own.

Because of this, relationships have the potential to be especially healing and uplifting. Relational therapy investigates what might be interrupting your ability to experience a secure sense of community. It's working towards finding more belonging and feeling more at home.

What does therapy look like

Individual therapy is a space for you to think about the things you don't always want to think about and talk about the things you don't always want to talk about. My goal is to make individual a relatively risk-free place for you to embody all parts of yourself so you can more deliberately decide who you want to be in the "real world."

Couple's therapy is problem solving; We identify each partners hopes and fears, then we work to balance a connection that feels more honest and a functional day-to-day life. Typically, I plan to meet with couples for six months to a year.

Group therapy is a unique environment in which a group of people come together to both give and receive help from one another. If group members can completely understand and work out their relationships with the other group members, there will be an enormous carryover into their "real life." They will discover pathways to more rewarding relationships with significant people in their life now and with people they have yet to meet. What happens in the group mirrors life, but now with an opportunity to achieve a different outcome.

About me

Identity disclosures: she/her/hers, cis-gendered, white, thin-priveleged, able-bodied, LDS background (Mormon)

In addition to my clinical training, I received my BFA in acting an theatre, am a certified yoga instructor, and am trained as an evidenced-based voice and music teacher. These trainings all uniquely inform my approach to therapy.

After hours, I spend my time running, reading, baking, singing, mastering the art of the dinner party, and chasing the things that makes me feel most alive.
